HR and OD Apprentice
Learn about the function of the HR and OD service so you can support service delivery across the whole of the employee lifecycle
Support teams in the management of mailboxes, dealing efficiently with queries, signposting to online tools and resources, and referring on to others as required
Develop strong digital skills to enable the service to improve our administrative processes, through the better use of technology
Develop a good understanding of the use of iTrent (our online employee record system) and the iTrent reporting function, supporting colleagues in the use of employee data
Develop knowledge of Me learning (our online learning platform) and work with the learning team to maximise take up of core learning across the workforce
Support with employee learning and engagement events, ensuring attendees receive a high-quality experience
Support HR colleagues to deliver an effective payroll and pensions service, providing additional support during busy periods
Learn how to load Wigan Council vacancies onto the online jobs portal and support the Job Adverts team to meet their vacancy turnaround times
Support line managers with the use of Job Train for the recruitment and onboarding of apprentices
Support the service in the planning and delivery of school, college and community engagement activities
Work with services to ensure work placements are registered online and maintain accurate records of placements to support monitoring and evaluation
With the support of colleagues, take responsibility for tracking of all pathways participants using a range of internal databases and systems
Draft engaging communications to support HR and OD campaigns
Maintain ICT systems, inputting or extracting data to support with project delivery
Conduct research and gather data to support HR and OD projects
Operate in line with Wigan Council policies and procedures
Ensure you operate within GDPR guidelines by regularly reviewing data held and destroying information in line with retention schedules

HR Support Level 3.
