Roofing Apprenticeship

To carry out all aspects of Roofing work (as defined by your primary trade) including general repairs, maintenance and refurbishment. For example:  Inspecting the structure to determine the best course of action; re-roof, new-roofing to slate, tiled, GRP, or rubber roofs including all necessary fixings Using tools, power tools and other equipment required for the role Working outdoors on construction sites, in all weathers and at height, requiring physical strength and good balance Working accurately from detailed plans and specifications Work from verbal and written instructions, including drawings, diagrams, sketches, calculations using measuring equipment where appropriate Preparing construction sites, tools and materials Assisting with the transporting, loading and unloading of building materials, equipment and tools Cleaning the construction site, removing debris, unused materials and hazardous substances Erecting and dismantling mobile scaffolding Operating construction equipment Assist other contractors and tradesmen such as Joiners & builders Develop effective working relationships with colleagues, partners and key stakeholders to support the delivery of a customer focused service To carry out all duties in accordance with safety regulations and Health and Safety procedures To be aware of legislation, codes of practice and good working practices relevant to all work activities and seek advice guidance and support where necessary in relation to these matters Ensure you operate in compliance with all Risk Assessments, Method Statements and COSHH Data sheets relating to the work, to ensure the health and safety of our employees, customers and members of the general public Where required drive and be responsible for a company vehicle in accordance with regulations and company procedures Complete all necessary associated work documentation Plan and organise own workload to ensure effective use of time and to comply with job targets Maintain, materials and equipment guarding against loss or theft and making them ready for use when require Any other duties asked of by management in the day-to-day running of a busy construction company

Training:
2 week block release at Birmingham Construction College. Attending every 12-14 weeks. 

Training Outcome:
Possible permanent position upon completion of apprenticeship.
