Apprentice Bricklayer
To lay bricks and blocks or utilise pre-manufactured elements to construct walling
To carry out simple setting out, prepare and use mortar to complete the project to specifications and required design
To learn how to use a trowel to lay bricks and blocks and mortar. To use levels and plumb lines to check wall alignment and use hammers, chisels, power tools and brick cutting machines to shape and trim bricks and blocks
To gain a thorough understanding of masonry walling and the construction industry
Training:
The company will work with you, the training provider and college to assist you in progressing through your Occupational Standard Level 2 until your End Point Assessment which will be two years or before after your start date
Your apprenticeship will complete on the taking of the EPA, whether failed or passed. On completion you will be encouraged to apply for a full time position within the company.

Training Outcome:
After the Apprenticeship you will have qualified as a Bricklayer, and work in this trade in all manners of projects, types and locations
You will have further opportunities to progress in your career to setting out engineer and management if the desire and aptitude so takes you

Working Hours :
Monday- Friday, 07:30 - 16:30. However one week per month in college - hours dictated by college. College is Building Crafts College, Stratford. 1 hour unpaid lunch break.
