Childcare Apprenticeship - Mosterton
The Preschool Apprentice becomes a key worker to a small group of children within the setting and provides them with a warm, secure and welcoming environment, ensuring that all children and families using the setting receive the highest standard of learning, care and development in Early Years provision.
Day-Day Responsibilities:
Providing high quality care for the children and to recognise both individual and group requirements in a secure, safe and stimulating environment To work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children Seek to ensure the promotion and reinforcement of children’s self-esteem, appropriate levels of effort and behaviour and to guide pupils to become independent learners To provide support, care and supervision of children within the preschool rooms, and on occasion on outings/trips Practitioners should be familiar with key policies and procedures, in particular the safeguarding of children, equal opportunities, behaviour management and health and safety. You will be provided copies of Preschools policies upon acceptance of a job role To promote good relations between staff members, parents and children always To assist children with their daily routines such as snack time, lunch time, nappy changes and toilet training etc. Assist with the care, security and maintenance of all equipment and toys within the preschool To uphold the confidentiality of the preschool at all times Assist in the implementation of a typical day in the preschool Ensure that you maintain an attractive, stimulating and reassuring environment for the children Help maintain accurate records of all children including learning journeys Ensure that no child is ever left alone in a room Support children in serving their own food, milk and drinks at snack time, and encourage good nutrition and sociable eating To work closely with the management team and the SENCO Be aware of child protection issues to ensure that any remedial action is taken immediately Action and monitor all child safeguarding, protection and accident/incidents to ensure that they are reported to management immediately Assist in health and safety checks as required to ensure the preschool is tidy, safe clean and secure for children, staff, parents/carers and visitorsIND01
Training:
It has an Ofsted Grade 2 Good rating and an overall achievement rate of 71.4%, exceeding the national average of 65.6%. Using a blended approach, learners are always at the forefront of our priorities. All learners are assigned a Personal Tutor who will be their main point of contact.
This involves regular catch-ups, check-in emails and calls. Your employer will agree to give you 20% of your working hours solely towards your study.
This will give you every chance to achieve the highest grade possible! On completion of this 18 month apprenticeship you will have gained; Early Years Practitioner - L2.
Training Outcome:
Possibility of a full time role after the completion of the apprenticeship.

Mosterton Preschool is based in Mosterton, Dorset. We are a charity run Preschool, with a Caterpillar room for children aged 2-3 years and Busy Bee room for children aged 3-4 years old.

Monday- Friday (Between 8:15am- 15:30pm)
