Level 3 Apprentice Science Technician
As a Science Technician Apprentice, you will:
Assist in setting up and dismantling practical experiments for science lessons Prepare and organise equipment, materials, and chemicals for use in the laboratory Ensure all laboratory equipment is cleaned, maintained, and stored correctly Support teachers and students during practical lessons, ensuring safety procedures are followed Manage and maintain stock levels of scientific materials, ordering supplies when needed Follow health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and COSHH guidelines Dispose of laboratory waste safely and appropriately Help with the organisation and development of science resources Assist in recording and maintaining accurate laboratory records Contribute to the smooth running of the science department through general administrative supportTraining:
Priory Apprenticeships are leading provider of apprenticeships designed specifically for education. During your apprenticeship, you will work closely with our Occupational Expert to gains the skills, knowledge and behaviour you need to be a successful and qualified Science Technician. The Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship is a 21-month programme delivered through practical, on-the-job training, workshops and mentoring. Upon completion of the course, you will have achieved Level 3 Laboratory Technician and functional skills if required.
Training Outcome:
On completion of the apprenticeship, there may be an opportunity for the role to be made permanent paid at a higher rate, with the opportunity to undertake further training. Science technicians are in demand across the education sector and this qualification will make you an employable candidate with secure job prospects.

We offer all three sciences to students aged 11-18 as well as Electronics at GCSE so the department is busy and thriving with lots to do and plenty of opportunities for learning your trade! Our Senior Science Technician is excited to be able to help train the next generation of science technicians and our Subject Leader and Second in Subject are here to provide all the support and encouragement you need. Our school has a reputation for being friendly, calm and welcoming! The department has 7 Science labs all close together as well as prep rooms and storage areas. There is even a mini staff room for Science so staff are easy to find and swap ideas with.
Working Hours :
Monday - Friday, inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break. Working hours TBC Term-time only (38 weeks per year).
