HGV Driver Apprentice (CAT C)

On successful attainment of NVQ, licence and training, the apprentice would be expected to be competent in meeting the minimum standards of the role as below:

Accompany a qualified HGV Driver to attain the knowledge, skills and role requirements Performing required checks to DVSA standards ensuring vehicles are in a roadworthy condition at all times Competency to identify vehicle defects that may affect safety and roadworthiness Ensuring compliance on Load security, vehicle cleanliness, Weight limits and driving standards Understanding and adhering to EU Drivers hours and Road Transport Directive (WTD) Regulations Understanding digital systems including Digital Tachographs, Digital Weighloaders, electronic ticketing and telemetry systems Driving in a professional, safe and courteous manner at all times Adhering to the highway code, road traffic regulations and understanding the principles of safe and fuel-efficient driving  Awareness of the risks and hazards associated with driving HGV vehicles with particular focus on Vulnerable Road Users (VRU) Safely operating automatic sheeting and tailgate systems Upholding the reputation and company image at all times

Training:

Urban Driver Level 2.

You will be expected to complete monthly online training to develop skills and knowledge around your role. Your role will be based at: Erith Operations Centre, Eastern Quarry, Watling Street, Bean, Dartford, Kent DA2.

Training Outcome:

Professional HGV Construction Logistics Vehicle (Tipper) Driver.

Working Hours :
Shift Patterns are scheduled for five days a week, Monday to Friday, from 6:00AM to 4:00PM, including a one-hour break. Some flexibility is required to accommodate operational needs.
