Apprentice Electrical Engineer - Bristol
Installation of traffic signal assets (including the installation and wiring of controllers), ancillary equipment and / or highways systems unsupervised or as part of a team
Complete electrical tests and pre-commissioning activities
Liaising with customers and other contractors that may be on site
Periodic inspections with electrical testing
Routine maintenance of highways infrastructure

Here is how the programme works:
Year 1: The likelihood is that you will spend a substantial amount of time at college studying towards your Foundation and knowledge qualifications on a block release and we will begin integrating you into the Yunex community through work placements.
Year 2: You will probably attend college on a day release basis at this point. You’ll spend the rest of your time as part of a field service centre team. This will involve installing, maintaining and fault finding on highway electrical equipment. You will also begin your workplace-based competence qualification.
Year 3: In year three you will continue to develop your technical, occupational, and professional competence and build your business network.
Year 4: In year 4 you will complete the end point assessment requirements and transition into a permanent role within the business.
On successfully passing your EPA, you will achieve the L3 Maintenance Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship.
To assist with your learning, you will also be allocated a mentor.
Training Outcome:
Permanent employment after apprenticeship as a Field Services Engineer

Working Hours :
For the first two years, if not at college, shifts will generally be between 8.00am - 6.00pm Monday - Friday. After this, shifts may be a mixture of days / nights and weekends. This will be discussed at interview.
