Apprentice Painter & Decorator

Primary responsibilities:

Basic understanding of paint. Gloss work and wood preparation. Basic knowledge of different paint mixing and why it is used. Working out and calculating the amount of paint required to complete the task. Preparing surfaces and workspaces to enhance the best result. Calculating the amount of paint required to complete the task. Removal of ironmongery and preparation for oil-based work (front doors/garage doors). Mist coat application and reasons why this is done. Cleaning and clearing up after jobs. Topping up and the understanding of why this needs to be done.

Training:
Level 2 Painter & Decorator at Stockton Riverside College. Functional skills Maths & English, if required.

Training Outcome:
An opportunity for a full-time position at the end of the apprenticeship.

Working Hours :
Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 4.30pm. Friday, 8.00am to 3.30pm.
