Higher Apprentice - Technician (Level 4)
Train familiarisation – Spending time with the customer’s maintenance team doing routine maintenance. This is the best way to find your way around the train
Working with and being mentored by the technical support engineers. Looking at on and off train diagnostics, fault rectification, experiencing how to write a technical report. In down time the technical support engineers will spend time on trains with apprentices to teach them how the various systems work
Health and safety – Creating and reviewing risk assessments
Depot safety tours
Projects – This could be creating a reliability improvement, something to make maintenance easier or specifying a new piece of equipment
Spending time at other Siemens sites – Not every module of an apprenticeship can be covered at Slade Green depot. From time to time, it may be necessary to work at other Siemens sites to gather the required evidence to complete a module

Block release (virtual)Whilst working towards a formal qualification you will also work as part of a team on real life projects within the workplace.
