Video Imaging Support Officer - Apprenticeship

To provide an imagery recovery and processing service from various digital devices within a laboratory environment supporting operational Video Imaging Officers. To edit, including the production of edited sequences and still images, video enhancement and copy facilities of imagery based evidence. This will be working alone under your own initiative as well as other stakeholders in the laboratory. Communicate and advise investigating officers within the WMP and other specific external agencies including the CPS on differing technical methods to achieve and deliver best evidence to set timescales. Manage forensic exhibits to ensure continuity, confidentiality and security is maintained at all times; with the use of Police systems; Understand and follow Digital Forensic good practice methodologies (ISO17025 standard and ACPO Principles of Digital Evidence) to acquire and process imagery based evidence;
Ensure compliance with Force and departmental policies and procedures; Maintain accurate records for all cases worked on, ensuring that all relevant information is entered in a timely and accurate manner. Produce Witness Statements and attend court to give evidence as required; To carry out any duties commensurate with the purpose of the post that may from time to time be determined. 
Knowledge & Experience

Training:
As an apprentice West Midlands Police will train you and you will undertake a Level 4 Digital Forensics Technician which will include: A fully recognised apprenticeship qualification - Level 4 Digital Forensics Technician with on-the-job competency training.
Classroom based and online learning delivered by our training provider Blue Light Digital This is a 24-month apprenticeship programme with a 27-month contract of employment. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will be able to apply for a permanent position if there is one available, but there is no guarantee
