Engineering Design Apprentice
• Learning to meet customer and sales expectations through customising existing products and components to their new product requirements within short deadlines whilst delivery best-in-class solutions to a global market.
• As an apprentice member of the design team, take responsibility for supporting senior team members in the full product development life-cycle of new components, products and solutions including supporting internal, e.g. Product Management teams with specific product information
• Learn and apply the skills and knowledge required to apply best in class aesthetics, materials and functionality into new products.
• Use Creo 3D CAD system to design and visualise projects create 2D drawings to enable procurement of tooling and components.
• Create photo realistic images from 3D models and assembly’s for customer visualisation.
• Undertake model making, prototyping and product testing.
• Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and vendors involved in a project.
• Liaise with the wider engineering team and other departments to assist in the development of product specifications.
• Plan and work effectively to ensure personal tasks are delivered on time, to standard and to budget.
• Produce product design information such as bill of materials and drawings for product management.

Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Standard. Company Training Plan & Assessment. BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Engineering (1 day per week for 2 years at college) Level 4 Diploma in Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing (Development Competence) Level 2 Functional Skills - Maths (If required) Level 2 Functional Skills - English (If required) End Point Assessment at the end of the apprenticeship (Months 36 to 39)Training Outcome:
HNC followed by HND and a permanent position as a Design Engineer.
