Hairdressing Apprentice

Daily duties to include but not limited to:

Assisting with the upkeep of the salon Learning how to carry out a full range of hairdressing services including shampooing, colouring, assisting stylists, greeting and preparing clients and promoting services and products You will develop valuable practical experience by working in a salon environment being exposed to a high standard of professional hairdressing on a daily basis Some reception work will also be required including taking payments and making appointments Ensuring the salon is kept clean and hygienic at all times Making sure the needs of clients are met to ensure they have an enjoyable experience

Training:

You will be working towards a Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard in Hairdressing

This apprenticeship consists of a mixture of off the job training and on the job mentoring and development within the workplace.

You will be expected to attend Cornwall College Camborne on a weekly basis, with additional attendance if functional skills are required.

Training Outcome:

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be the offer for a permanent position for the right candidate with opportunities for progression.

The Priory family​ ​ We are Jessie and Sam, the owners of The Priory. It has been a family-owned business since our mum Jill first opened JJ’s Hair Design (Church Street) in 1993. We took over the running of JJ's in 2015 and as we expanded our business by introducing beauty services we soon outgrew the salon, so finally, in 2017 we took on our biggest challenge yet by moving out of town to a bigger premises and rebranded as The Priory. Pride in our craft ​ We strive to ensure our team continually develop their craft by attending further skill-based learning and receiving in-house product training. We do this because of a love for the industry and we pride ourselves on being able to share our passion with our clients. The salon ​ Moving to a larger premises allowed us to achieve our dream of being able to offer a wider range of services both in hair and beauty, whilst doing so in a comfortable and friendly environment. Working Hours :
Wednesday to Saturday varying hours to be negotiated between 9am and 5pm at interview.
