Bricklaying Apprenticeship Level 2

As a Bricklaying Apprentice, you will work closely with our skilled team members, who will serve as mentors and provide invaluable guidance throughout your apprenticeship. By working collaboratively and learning from experienced bricklayers, you will develop a solid foundation of bricklaying skills and techniques. From safe working practices to mastering the use of specific tools, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the trade.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support senior team members in various bricklaying tasks, ensuring a productive and cohesive working environment.
- Learn to interpret construction plans and specifications accurately.
- Assist in setting out work areas with precision and attention to detail.
- Prepare mortar by hand, maintaining the correct consistency for optimal bricklaying.
- Utilise specific tools required for different tasks, demonstrating proficiency and adaptability.
- Measure materials accurately and execute precise cutting to meet project requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in work areas to promote safety and efficiency.
- Engage in manual lifting activities while adhering to proper lifting techniques.



Training:

* Level 2 Bricklayer Standard

* Construction Skills Health, Safety and Environment test – CSCS Test

* Functional skills in English and maths if required



Training Outcome:

On completion of your Level 2 apprenticeship, an opportunity to apply for a full-time post may be offered to the right candidate or you will be able to become a Self-Employed Bricklayer.

With a focus on site work, we have also expanded our operations to cover regions such as Exeter and Cornwall. Our dedicated team, many of whom have progressed through our renowned Apprenticeship program, are now accomplished Self Employed Bricklayers or continue to work under Kyle's expert guidance. We find great satisfaction in our work, as it allows us to witness the transformation of houses in Plymouth and proudly claim our role in their construction.

Working Hours :
40 hours per week Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm. This may vary slightly depending on workload and travel time.
