Working in the aerospace industry, with a base at the Rolls Royce Site in Derby, t his opportunity will be attractive to individuals who wish to enhance their skills and expertise in mechanical manufacturing techniques, procedures and lean efficiencies in a progressive and challenging environment. The training role will work closely with Engineers and managers to ensure full absorption and understanding of our unique processes and business model.

Job role:
Working closely with the Rolls-Royce Stakeholders to identify machining and consumable cost saving opportunities or benefits. You will learn how to and be responsible for planning, testing, implementing, and recording the benefits of new machining technologies. To ensure you remain up to date with the latest metal cutting developments, you will be required to engage regularly with tooling manufacturers and know about the latest metal removal processes. Working closely with the Rolls-Royce Stakeholders to identify machining and consumable cost saving opportunities or benefits. Engineering manufacturing technician - Providing specialist technical support for manufacturing engineers.
Based on Rolls-Royce Aerospace sites you will be learning about the different machining processes to manufacture critical engine components.
Together with invaluable technical, commercial and leadership experience, you will gain qualifications throughout your time with us and Make UK(1 day a week fully paid for).

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, candidates may progress to a full time role as an Application Engineer.

Working Hours :
When at company, your working hours will be Monday - Friday, 8.00am to 4.00pm, with a half hour lunch.
