AAT Finance Assistant Apprentice
To assist with general accounting and admin tasks
To provide cash room cover taking responsibility for daily cash counting, tills posting and cash reconciliations (including petty cash)
To work with the sales and purchase ledgers and assist with reconciliations
To assist in year-end preparation and data collection for audit
To communicate with internal and external stakeholders using appropriate methods and professional language
To use financial and accounting software packages to input and manage data safely and securely in line with organisational instructions
To provide support to team members to help ensure that financial and accounting activities are carried out within expected timescales and quality expectations
To complete special projects and other tasks as required by the Finance Manager and Finance Director
Training:
Foundation covers the basic principles of accountancy and is your starting point if you’ve never studied accountancy before. You’ll learn the basic principles of accountancy, such as double-entry bookkeeping, costing and preparing financial statements, as well as how to use accountancy software.
This level is ideal if you’re new to accountancy and finance, have previously worked in an accounts department, or are looking to change your career to Accountancy. To pass this level, you'll be examined on five units. All assessments are computer-based exams (CBE).

An apprenticeship has to be relevant to the job you are undertaking and you must dedicate 20% of their time towards it.
