Editorial Assistant Adult Trade Publishing Apprentice
General admin tasks including booking taxis and couriers, organising meetings, looking up title information using the Biblio system, printing, photocopying, mailings and binding manuscripts
Completing review mailings for press and social media influencers
Writing draft cover briefs/drafting book blurbs
Managing editor schedules for London Book Fair
Maintaining metadata standards for the list’s titles
Attending meetings and taking minutes
Compiling spreadsheets and maintaining databases
Selecting and typing up quotes and reviews
Sending book proofs and finished titles to authors/illustrators/agents
Proof-reading materials
Training:
To meet the requirements of the Level 4 Publishing Professional apprenticeship programme you will need to spend 6 hours a week of your time undertaking off-the-job learning, which will include:
Formal training, including online learning and internal learning events 1-2-1s with your coach and line manager Observing and shadowing colleagues Writing up learning reflections for your portfolioTraining Outcome:
