Level 3 Paralegal Apprentice
Checking paperwork and liaising with courts and internal/external customers regarding cases/dates, ensuring that deadlines are met.
Deliver support to colleagues, generating and sending appropriate letters and proformas.
Accept receipt of new prosecution cases submitted via an IT system, checking accuracy.
Prepare summonses or postal charges and related documentation for cases to be presented at court.
Manage individual case load on a daily basis by using IT diaries.
Liaise with contracted solicitors and DVSA enforcement staff and appoint legal representation in the event of an appeal against a court decision.
Book hearing dates at Magistrates’ Courts, liaising between courts and DVSA staff.
Training:
The apprenticeship will be delivered by Damar Training. This apprenticeship is due to start in March 2025 and we will be looking to onboard successful applicants in February 2025.
Training Outcome:
This role is a Fixed Term appointment for a maximum length of 24 months, there will be a possibility of becoming a permanent Prosecution & Legal Services Case Officer once the apprenticeship has been completed.
Once qualified you will have the opportunity to progress within DVSA and the wider civil service.

Working Hours :
Our hybrid working model offers flexibility about where and when you work. Our expectation is that you will spend a minimum 60% of your time at your base location. Working hours are usually between 8am-6pm Mon -Fri and will be agreed with you.
