Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship Level 2
Carry out first line repairs and general maintenance duties on a proactive basis as instructed by the Site Manager, or other members of the site team, including: minor building repairs, carpentry, painting, basic plumbing and grounds maintenance.
Collect and use tools and equipment needed for given tasks, check they are safe and fit for use, keep in good condition and return on completion.
Ensure security of the site. To assist with carrying out security procedures, including unlocking at the start of the day, and ensuring the site and all its buildings are secure at the end of the day.
To take emergency action to minimise the effects resulting from burst pipes, vandalism, fire damage, work on site, etc. prior to repair or remedial work being undertaken by specialist agencies and to monitor and protect the facilities until secure.
Training:
You will spend 4 days each week carrying our duties that will include basic maintenance & repairs, grounds work, site security, receiving and distribution of deliveries, liaising with contractors, and some cleaning.
You will spend 1 day each week on your independent study or online training work, in school.
Every 3 months you will spend 2 days off-site practical skills training with GLP Training Apprenticeships at their training site.
Training Outcome:
The apprenticeship and practical experience should aid future career prospects. Please note there is no guarantee of a job at Alcester Grammar School at the end of apprenticeship. This will depend upon school finances at that time, due to the change in government we cannot forecast that far ahead at this time. The school will commit to this 24 month apprenticeship role.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday; 4 days per week 7.5 hours of work a day i.e. 8 hour day including 30 minute unpaid lunch break. 1 day per week 6 hours onsite to do independent study or online training course at school site. Shifts to be confirmed.
