Apprentice Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Daily / Weekly Tasks:

Diagnose and fault find issues on manufacturing machinery during breakdowns Carry out repairs to restore production lines quickly and efficiently Perform planned maintenance to schedule, including lubrication, testing, and inspections Check equipment regularly for anomalies and wear Replace and renew parts, filters, and perform oil changes Support the site with general repairs within skillset Organize and prepare materials, tools, and spare parts for upcoming work Work on machinery improvements, refurbishments, and overhauls Assist with machinery installations, relocations, and commissioning Carry out small fabrication work, including basic welding when required Engage in mechanical fault finding, repairs, and modifications Contribute to continuous improvement projects to enhance machinery performance Collaborate with the engineering team and learn from experienced colleagues Apply problem-solving skills and understanding of machinery to diagnose and resolve issues

Training:
This is a Level 3 Fitter Apprenticeship, delivered over a 33 month period The apprentice will attend the training centre, In-Comm Training Services in Aldridge, WS9 8UG, 2 and a half days per week for the first 20 months

Training Outcome:
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there will be a full-time position available at the company

Working Hours :
Monday - Thursday, 8.00am - 4.30pm and Friday, 8.00am - 3.30pm.
