I’m currently working with a well-regarded hospitality business close to the area of Oakham who are looking for a talented Senior Sous Chef to join their ambitious and growing kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced chef who is passionate about fresh, seasonal food and thrives in a high-quality, fast-paced environment.

As Senior Sous Chef, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Executive Head Chef in overseeing the day-to-day running of the kitchen, while also being given the opportunity to lead the team in their absence. You’ll be actively involved in menu development, training and mentoring the brigade, and ensuring that the highest standards of food quality, safety and service are consistently delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and inspire the kitchen team in the absence of the Executive Head ChefDevelop creative, seasonal menus using fresh ingredients with a focus on flavour and current food trendsMotivate and train the team to maintain consistently high standards of preparation and presentationEnsure Health & Safety and food hygiene regulations are fully adhered toOversee stock management, ordering, and cost control to maintain GP targetsWork collaboratively with front-of-house teams to deliver seamless service for both dining and events

What we’re looking for:

Proven experience as a Sous or Senior Sous Chef within a quality hospitality environmentStrong background in delivering fresh food at scale for events and functionsA calm and professional approach under pressureA genuine passion for food and innovationStrong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a teamA collaborative and proactive working style

This role is based in Oakham, so candidates will need to be able to reliably commute or be open to relocation.
