Carpentry Apprentice

Daily duties:

Learning how to use hand tools correctly and storing safely ready for the next job.

Keeping your own tools in good condition.

Splicing timber and timber repairs.

Health & Safety knowledge to be a continuous everyday part of the job, looking for and avoiding hazards by keeping own and others areas clear of obstruction or debris.

Learning to fix stairs, doors, windows, frames etc.

Learning to hang doors, fit locks and latches, handrails, spindles, skirting, and boxing in etc.

Ability to follow instructions by active listening.

Correct PPE must be worn at all times whilst working.

Cleaning/sweeping up and making areas clear to workin.

Correct use of power tools as instructed.

Great customer service skills or being polite to clients as this is very important for our business image and something which is extremely important.



Training:
You will work towards the Level 2 standard apprenticeship in Carpentry and joinery. You will attend college once a week and have an assessor who will visit you onsite to carry out observations. If you are unable to provide evidence of C/4 + ( or equivalent) in your maths and English, you will need to do functional skills alongside your apprenticeship programme. An End Point Assessment will be used to assess your qualification at the end of your programme.

Employer Description:
We are a Carpentry and Joinery company with 13 years of expierience. We are independent, local carpenters available for projects of all size and complexity from decking, summer houses, wardrobes to bespoke designed pieces and projects in the Bristol area.

Working Hours :
Monday - Friday. 8.30am - 4.30pm. 45 minute lunch break.
