Commis Chef Apprentice

Nestled in the heart of Buckingham, this prestigious independent school, Stowe School caters for up to 3,000 pupils as well as boarders and staff and includes not only a breakfast, lunch and supper service but also an extensive hospitality service. This operates 7 days a week, but you will you work 5 days over 7 as the schedule is well-organised across our large team to help you maintain a positive work-life balance.

The tasks of the role would be as follows:

Presentation, organisational and communication skills Passion for food & service  Bags of enthusiasm Ensure the quality and presentation of all dishes meet the company's standards and client expectations Oversee stock control and ordering to maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimising waste Collaborate with the catering team to execute special events, themed dinners, and other culinary initiatives Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, always following health and safety regulations Stay updated on industry trends, culinary techniques, and new ingredients to continuously enhance the menu offerings and overall dining experience Foster a positive working environment by demonstrating leadership qualities, effective communication, and teamwork

Training:
Training with Milton Keynes College one day a week at the Bletchley Campus for your Commis Chef Apprenticeship Ongoing training, support and development with the employer Expert mentors / trainers who will guide you through your apprenticeship Hands-on learning, who will give you real-world feedback 

Training Outcome:

A chef apprenticeship can lead to numerous career opportunities in the culinary world. Starting as a Commis Chef, an apprentice can progress to roles such as Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, and eventually Head Chef, overseeing kitchen operations.
