Business Admin apprenticeship

A typical day for a Business Administrator Apprentice in a bricklaying company can look like this:

1. Morning Briefing – Start the day by attending a team meeting or briefing to review daily goals, project updates, and any urgent issues.

2. Administrative Tasks – Handle general office duties such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and managing correspondence. This might include scheduling appointments or meetings for the team.

3. Supplier Coordination – Update and maintain supplier records, process purchase orders, and ensure timely delivery of materials. Communicate with suppliers to resolve any issues or delays.

4. Document Management – Organise and file important documents, including contracts, invoices, and project reports. Ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date.

5. Finance Support – Assist with basic financial tasks such as invoicing, tracking expenses, and preparing reports. You might also help with budget monitoring and expense claims.

6. Client Interaction – Handle customer inquiries and provide support as needed. This could involve coordinating with clients to schedule meetings or site visits.

7. Project Assistance – Support project managers with administrative tasks related to ongoing construction projects, such as updating project schedules, tracking progress, and preparing documentation.

8. Team Collaboration – Work closely with colleagues, attending team meetings and contributing to discussions. Participate in casual banter and team-building activities to foster a positive work environment.

9. End-of-Day Review – Review the day's accomplishments, update task lists, and prepare for the next day. Ensure all administrative tasks are completed and ready for follow-up.
