What is an Electrical Wholesaler?
Electrical wholesalers sell the products we all use in our homes, businesses, entertainment venues, cafés that give us access to electricity – from lighting our homes through to floodlighting a football match, from recharging a mobile phone to recharging an electric vehicle. The products you will be working with are used in domestic, industrial, and commercial settings, and are installed by contractors and electricians.
This busy Edmundson Electrical branch is looking for a highly motivated apprentice to join our busy branch. After full training, responsibilities will include:
Managing stock in and out (to external clients)
Picking and packing
Store transfers & stock control
Completing the paperwork within the office
Raising quotations
Trade counter
Sales calls
Processing orders
Administration
Answering the telephone
Some heavy lifting will be involved with loading and unloading the vans
Occasional Driving - so must hold a UK Driving Licence
Training:Completing a Trade Supply Apprenticeship Level 2, consisting of:
Knowledge and Competence qualification in Trade Supplier at Level 2
End point assessment – Final test and observation
The vocational and academic training aspects are separated and delivered by separate teams. The vocational training and assessment is conducted, more often than not, on-site according to the employer's wishes.
Notice of dates is agreed well in advance of a site visit. Training and assessment are conducted both on and off-the-job, according to the needs of the course and the learner. Work as an individual and as part of a team, in all weathers (e.g. we work outdoors all year round) to maintain and enhance our plant collections
Be motivated to learn, undertake a diverse range of training activities including masterclasses, face to face sessions and plant identification tests
Be able to assist customers/visitors as and when required in the garden, providing excellent customer service and a great visitor experience
Support and/or work at RHS events. This could be helping exhibitors set up or move around the site, speaking to members or the public or working on a stand
Strictly adhere to RHS, School of Horticulture and external legislations, such as those concerned with privacy, security, safeguarding, fire, health and safety
It is compulsory to wear RHS uniform and special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to be able to, with direction, work with a wide range of horticultural tools and equipment in a safe manner
Comply with current RHS guidance on biosecurity and plant health practices in order to minimise the risk posed by quarantine pests and diseases
Training:
Training will take place at Plumpton College near Brighton on a block release basis, alternating with online lecture block weeks - approximately six times per year
The RHS covers the costs of travel accommodation and food whilst staying at the college in person

The Parts Department is at the heart of our operations. Our Parts Advisors are responsible for the stock control of a wide range of vehicle parts and accessories. This includes the ordering, selling and managing of stock to ensure that we meet the needs of our trade counter customers and to guarantee that our workshop team have the parts and accessories that they need to complete their daily tasks.
Your duties will vary from day to day and could include:
Providing advice to customers who are having problems with their vehicles
Taking sales orders from customers both face to face and over the phone
Stock control for vehicle parts and accessories
Maintaining an ordered stock room
Raising invoices for parts sold
Liaison with internal teams to ensure the correct stock is place at the right time
Our ideal candidate will be methodical in their way of working and be able to demonstrate precise attention to detail.
As a central point of contact for both of our internal and external customers you will need to have excellent communication skills. You also should be IT literate (although full training will be provided).

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join our team and embark on a long term career, with excellent earning and progression opportunities once you complete your apprenticeship. Training:Training will be delivered using a combination of virtual classroom remote learning and face-to-face block release weeks at our state-of-the-art training centre.
Successful applicants must be prepared to travel to the Volkswagen Group National Learning Centre in Milton Keynes to complete their apprenticeship training. All training costs are covered as part the programme (travel, accommodation and food).
In the workplace, your personal, dedicated mentor will support your continued learning as you apply the skills and knowledge you have gained through the remote sessions and at the Volkswagen Group National Learning Centre.
This is a fully rounded training experience where you will build life skills that last and gain both apprenticeship qualifications and brand certifications.
On successful completion of the one year programme, you will receive the following:
