The Production Lead is responsible for overseeing daily production operations to ensure the efficient and safe production of high-quality products. This role supports production associates, ensures adherence to company standards including GMP and HACCP, and helps drive productivity, quality, and continuous improvement across assigned production lines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensure production of quality products that meet all Safety, SQF, and customer requirements
Lead, coach, train, and develop production associates to enhance skills and performance
Support and maintain efficient production processes across all product lines
Assist with production activities as needed during staffing shortages
Conduct ongoing training to improve production methods and operational efficiency
Review production schedules prior to shift start and communicate updates, including product changes, line adjustments, and material availability
Facilitate shift huddles and maintain communication with supervisors and cross-functional teams
Verify all formulas, labels, tools, and equipment are prepared prior to production start
Monitor production lines to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring production areas are free of hazards
Ensure accurate completion of all production documentation, including material usage and counts
Promote proactive responses to downtime and support efficient changeovers
Maintain effective communication between associates and leadership
Identify and escalate issues related to quality, safety, downtime, or production concerns
Lead and motivate associates to maximize productivity while minimizing operational costs
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a production or manufacturing environment (food industry preferred)
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Willingness to work overtime as needed
Strong work ethic with a focus on safety and reliability
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Certified forklift operator (or ability to obtain certification)
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and motivate employees
Knowledge of SQF, GMP, and OSHA regulations
Physical Requirements
This role requires regular standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting. The ability to lift up to 60 pounds is required. Employees must maintain a high level of safety awareness at all times.

Produce finished samples in the pilot plant for internal and customer evaluations. Prepare spec sheets, nutritional information, formulation letters and any other material required to support project work. Demonstrate strong time management and multitasking abilities. Drive projects from concept development through specification, commercialization and production. Participate in ideation and brainstorming sessions. Maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions in the pilot plant Prepare and present Power Point presentations for customers in a support role for sales Collaborate with sales team and customers to provide technical support and product insights. Work cross-functionally with QA and production teams to drive process improvements, refine procedures, and resolve issues effectively. Adhere to GMP requirements.
REQUIREMENTS /SKILLS:
BS/MS in Food Science or related scientific field 5+ years of dairy product development or application experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. Understanding of dairy ingredients and multiple dairy applications. Excellent computer proficiency: MS Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices. Must have knowledge of SQF, GMP's, Kosher, Sanitation, Allergen, Organic practices Some travel required, less than 25%

SUMMARY:
Responsible for supervising all processes, methodology and procedures involved in the day-to-day food production, food processing and production employee's performance. Direct, lead and motivate production associates to maximize productivity and minimize operating costs
Direct and maintain production schedules to ensure on time production and delivery with resources allocated
Direct the work of and manage production leads and production operators
Interview, select, hire, and train production employees.
Direct production employees' work and maintain employee production records for use in supervision or control,
Appraise production employees' performance, complete production employees' annual evaluations, and recommend promotions as appropriate.

Discipline production employees as appropriate
Determine techniques to be used or improvements on operation techniques, apportion work, determine production equipment, tools. Control production flow and work distribution, and provide for employee safety,
Responsible for producing a quality product that meets all the Safety, SQF, QA, and customer regulations
Coaches, counsels, trains, and develop production employees' skills
Regularly train associates in methods of improving production processes
Prior to shift start, reviews production schedule with leads and associates to keeps them informed of any changes in product, line changes, material availability. Complete shift huddle/communication with other department Supervisors and associates
Assures that all recipes, labels, tools, and equipment are ready prior to production start
Inspects production lines regularly to ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices are followed
Makes certain that production areas are kept clean of waste, debris, and liquids to avoid safety hazards
Ensures that at the end of the shift all documentation pertinent to production: materials and counts are accurate. Completes all required information tracking and data collection
Educates associates in proactive response to down time and rapid shift and product changeovers
Maintains effective communications between the production manager and production leads. Identifies significant issues related to quality, safety, down time, production problems or any other unexpected issuesOther duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS /SKILLS:
3 years or more in a leadership capacity, experience in production, preferably in the food industry or manufacturing is preferred. (A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)
Must be self-directed and able to work without close supervision

Hardworking, dependable, and safety conscious
Bilingual - English/Spanish is preferred
Certified forklift driver

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Maintenance Intern to support a structured maintenance inventory improvement project within our food production facility. This role will focus on organizing and validating maintenance spare parts while gaining hands-on experience with our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The intern will work closely with maintenance and production teams to improve inventory accuracy, equipment data integrity, and overall operational reliability in a regulated food manufacturing environment.
KEY DUTIES & MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct physical inventory counts of maintenance spare parts, critical components, and consumables
Organize and label storeroom inventory in alignment with food safety and plant standards
Reconcile physical inventory with CMMS and purchasing records
Assist with cleaning and standardizing asset and parts data within the CMMS
Support development and updating of preventive maintenance (PM) schedules
Help build and verify Bills of Materials (BOMs) for production equipment
Identify obsolete or excess inventory and support optimization efforts
Collaborate with maintenance technicians to verify equipment information and parts usage
Document inventory control and CMMS processes to support long-term sustainability
Record operational and production data on specified forms
Maintain a clean work area
