To support the Nurse in Charge by recognising tasks that may be delegated to other carers or yourself. Routinely oversee and monitor Health Care Assistants
To act as a role model to all staff in the Unit
To promote best practice in all aspects of the home’s care delivery; this is to include care of the environment, furniture and equipment
To work with the Nurse in Charge and their Senior colleagues to promote team working on the Unit
To ensure every staff member on the unit is included in the team
To work constantly with new staff during their induction period
To allocate tasks, sometimes on a daily basis and to ensure they are carried out properly
Liaise with professional staff in carrying out care plans etc.

Employer Description:The Croft Nursing home is situated in Barrow-in-Furness and is very fortunate in being surrounded by beaches, mountains and lakes. The Croft Nursing Home is regulated by the Care Quality Commission.
The Croft was opened over 50 years ago as day care centre. As the needs of the community changed the Croft expanded its scope to provide Residential care, both long stay and respite. Due to the ever changing needs of the Residents in our care The Croft was registered and re-opened as a nursing home in June 2000. We continue to maintain high standards and improve the service we provide to the residents in our care.
We currently offer 23 single rooms for Residents over the age of 18 who require long term nursing care. The majority of our rooms have en-suite facilities and are all tastefully decorated. Residents are encouraged to individualise their rooms and choose their own soft furnishings.
