Working within Sandwell Council Social Care Services, you will learn what the various teams within the service do, as you will assist Social Workers and other professionals in assessing, safeguarding, supporting and advocating for service users. During the apprenticeship, you will contribute to the delivery of services that enable the best outcome for service users and their families. ** Unfortunately we cannot accept applications from young people receiving social care services themselves, or who are aged under 18 years old.
You will undertake a wide range of duties such as:
Helping to provide an immediate response when receiving information or being aware of situations concerning risks to service users
Assist others when working with service users to improve their quality of life
Actively undertake Training to improve own performance, including the Shadowing of Social Workers
Support others to advocate on behalf of others, to obtain the best outcomes
Gather and share information from service users with all relevant parties/professionals involved
Support the Team by carrying out follow-up calls, taking any actions as authorised
Promote service users cultural needs, and challenge any discrimination and racism
Help ensure that social work care planning for service users, is carried out by working with them and other professionals, in family homes or elsewhere with a range of therapeutic interventions
Be accountable for the quality of your work and take responsibility for maintaining and improving your knowledge and skills
Meet relevant standards of practice and working in a lawful, safe and effective way
Maintain clear and accurate records as required by procedures established for your work
Work openly and co-operatively with colleagues, and treat them with respect
Recognise that you remain responsible for the work that you have been asked to undertake
Recognise and respect the roles and expertise of workers from other agencies and work in an effective partnership with them
Work flexibly to support the department, by working late on occasional evenings
Training:You will undertake a Level 3 Adult Care Worker Qualification.
The apprenticeship training will be delivered in the workplace and you will receive regular visits from a college assessor

Health & Safety
• Keep all areas, especially fire escape routes, clear of obstructions and ensure fire doors are secure and accessible.

Employer Description:The Blossom Federation (named in July 2022) has been working together in various forms since 2014. The London Borough of Hackney is very pro schools collaborating and have actively encouraged the bringing together of schools. Beginning with Sebright's partnership with Daubeney, then with Lauriston and the formulation of the Children's Centers, Robin Warren joined as Executive Head Teacher in January 2021. You will both work towards achieving formal training (Level 3 Surveying Technician Apprenticeship from the RICS ) and to join our Topographical Survey department as we continue to expand. This is a full time position, with a 1 day a week release for training via the virtual training provider. Out of term time you will be expected to work 5 days a week.

The Level 7 apprentice will spend four days a week working on site, learning on the job, and one day a week doing off-the-job learning. During the off-the-job learning days, the apprentice will attend online and in-person training sessions with Westminster Adult Education Service, complete independent learning or write about their work for their portfolio of evidence, which is used in the end-point assessment.
Training Outcome:This role is a Level 7 Archivist and Records Manager apprenticeship, enabling the postholder to become a qualified archivist through a new technical training route. Maintain accurate pupil records and data using Arbor, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations
Produce and provide up-to-date attendance and pupil data reports
Perform general administrative and reception duties, including handling enquiries via phone, email, and in person
Communicate effectively with pupils, parents/carers, staff, and external agencies
Support the day-to-day running of the school office and contribute to departmental events and meetings
Operate relevant systems and software (e.g. Arbor, Google, Word, Excel)
Ensure all documentation is filed securely and confidentially in line with school policies
Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school
Uphold the school’s vision, values, and safeguarding responsibilities
Handle incoming emails and voicemails, directing or responding as appropriate
Maintain office stock and supplies, ensuring resources are available as needed
Represent the school positively when liaising with external stakeholders and agencies
Training:
You will work towards your Level 3 Business Administrator qualification across a total duration of 18 months!
