We’re recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded independent optical practice in Caterham for an Optical Assistant to join their friendly, patient-focused team.

The Role
As an Optical Assistant, you’ll play an important role in ensuring every patient receives a smooth, reassuring, and high-quality experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
Welcoming patients and guiding them through their visit
Supporting dispensing, including frame and lens selection
Pre-screening and supporting clinics
Adjustments, repairs, and collections
Supporting the day-to-day running of the practice
Delivering consistently high standards of customer care
About You
This role would suit someone who:
Has previous experience working as an Optical Assistant
Is confident, warm, and professional with patients
Takes pride in delivering excellent service
Enjoys working in a community-focused, independent environment
Is organised, reliable, and a strong team player
Is ideally looking for a full-time, long-term role

Support the delivery of football and multi-sport coaching sessions for children aged 2–16
Shadow experienced coaches and learn effective coaching techniques
Assist with planning and setting up coaching sessions, including equipment and resources
Lead small group activities and support 1-to-1 coaching sessions as confidence grows
Help manage behaviour and ensure a safe, positive environment for all participants
Support safeguarding and the wellbeing of children during sessions
Provide encouragement, feedback, and support to help children develop skills and confidence
Pack away equipment and help prepare venues before and after sessions
Work as part of a coaching team across after-school clubs, holiday camps, and football sessions
Take part in training, mentoring, and off-the-job learning as part of the apprenticeship
Training Outcome:Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the apprentice may progress into a full-time Sports Coach role within Supreme Sport & Camps Ltd. There may also be opportunities to specialise in football coaching, lead coaching sessions, support the delivery of holiday camps, or progress into senior coaching or leadership roles.
