Overview
An established precision engineering manufacturer is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Production Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an engineering background or experience in precision machining to play a key role in supporting and improving production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Check and author work instructions against customer requirements, quotes, and technical drawings
- Ensure job paperwork is clear, accurate, and consistent across operations before issuing to the shop floor
- Acknowledge and review customer Purchase Orders, ensuring alignment with quotes and specifications
- Coordinate tooling availability and purchase new tooling as needed to maintain stock levels
- Produce and maintain tracking sheets, drill sheets, FAIR sheets, and electronic job planning tools
- Raise and verify work instructions for subcontract operations, ensuring supplier agreements on pricing and lead times
- Liaise with material suppliers to obtain quotes and verify material certificates for compliance
- Adhere to Quality Management Systems (AS9100 Rev D & ISO 9001:2015) and approve suppliers before processing Purchase Orders
- Communicate professionally and proactively with customers, confirming verbal agreements in writing
- Assist in recording and reporting non-conforming products and support corrective actions
- Provide technical administrative and engineering support to increase production efficiency

Key Responsibilities
Quality
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100 Rev D.
- Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Schedule and complete internal audits, reporting to the Board on compliance.
- Update systems and procedures to meet external certification requirements.
- Manage corrective and preventative action programmes.
- Co-ordinate external ISO and customer audits.
- Train and support colleagues in QMS procedures, promoting quality engagement.
- Manage non-conformance processes, track NCRs, and oversee effective resolutions.
- Support employee training and development, ensuring competence matrices are up to date.

- Undertake other HSE responsibilities as required.
