As a General Practitioner your key responsibilities include:

Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner – PDCS Duty TeamOpportunity available for a Registered Mental health Nurse to work within the PDCS Duty Team, CambridgeThe team sits within an the PDCS Duty Team with the role predominantly providing PDCS DUTY and assessment/review appointments. As part of this role is to ensure duty support is available to all clients on our treatment waiting list and those in active treatment. Duty practitioners cover all 4 localities, Cambridge, Fenland, Huntingdon and Peterborough. There may not be a duty practitioner based in each area however there is a lot of support within the service and decisions are that of the team rather than a team member. There is frequent supervision and reflection and a great opportunity to increase experience and confidence in this area. You will be meet every morning and discuss any concerns or queries, incoming work, share information and concerns. A “crisis handover” is subsequently completed whereby an outline of the client, summary of recent events or presentation and any actions. Actions may be graded red /amber/green dependent upon actions required and urgency of the action/ clinical presentation. As the Lead Consultant Psychiatrist you key responsibilities include:
Management of complex cases
Care plan and treatment formulation, guidance on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness
Liaison and collaborative working with care co-ordinators, commissioners, families and carers and other services/agencies
Mental Health Act implementation and liaison with Ministry of Justice (if applicable)
Multi-disciplinary, multi-agency and partnership working
To undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of patients including ensuring all NHSE contractual obligations are met and to ensure initial discharge summaries are sent out within 24 hours of discharge
To maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council and to abide by professional codes of conduct
To maintain section 12(2) and approved clinician status
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
Experience working in psychiatry within multi-disciplinary teams
To be in good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists
Be accredited or about to be accredited in Forensic psychiatry with the GMC
To have had an appraisal/RITA within the last year
