My client is an established firm in the specialist safety valve sector who are currently looking for a skilled individual to repair, service and maintain customer valves on various sites across the UK and Ireland. Full training will be provided so machinery-specific experience is not essential but a great attitude to learn is.
Commutable from: Middlesbrough, Billingham, Eaglescliffe and Thornaby
The role of Valve Technician:
To service and maintain a range of safety valves
- Perform routine Maintenance
- To work safely, effectively, and efficiently at all times considering all persons, plant, property and the environment.
- To carry out safety valve/level gauge services to include but not exclusively, refurbishment, calibration, repair, overhaul, servicing and finishing at customer's sites and in the workshop.
- To provide an online safety valve testing service (Tru-Test®) to customers
- To undertake any other reasonable relevant task/training that may be required within the engineering services department
- Work/communicate with all other members of the team to ensure that knowledge vital to the smooth operation of the department is transferred effectively.
- Fault finding/diagnostics
- Ensuring that works are carried out in compliance with current health, safety and environmental requirements
- Flexible with overnight stays when required
Key Skills / Experience Required:
- Experience in Mechanical assembly or the use of hand tools
- Previous experience of communicating with people on all levels
- Good communication skills with a range of individuals; customers to site operatives
- Full clean UK Driving Licence
Salary and Package:
- Salary £13 - £16.25 per hour + door-to-door travel
- 39-hour working week with regular overtime available
- Company Pool Van and Fuel Card
- 25 days holiday + 8 statutory bank holidays
- Saturday overtime x 1.5 / Sunday overtime x 2
- Out of workshop allowance (payable for visits/trips over 5 hrs) £8 /day (To be agreed a further allowance for extended working days)
- Overnight stay allowance - £22/night
- Both the above may be payable for and on the same day

Responsibilities of the Process Safety Engineer;
Provide expertise on PSM risk assessments: HAZOP, LOPA, MOC, ATEX/DSEAR, OBRA
Both lead and support other members of the SHE team in carrying out assessments
Drive action completion following assessments
Carry out basic consequence analysis using e.g., ALOHA
Provide technical information and be the “intelligent customer” when using 3rd parties for e.g., consequence analysis
Provide full basis of support package for any new major accident scenarios identified and review and update existing bases
Drive risk assessment reviews at the required frequency
Coach other chemical engineers in the assessment methodologies
Oversee and check the application of PSM elements during project design and development
Provide technical support for incident investigations
To be successful in this position as Process Safety Engineer, minimum 5+ years’ experience working in a similar PSE role ideally within chemical manufacturing operations is essential. I am currently working with a large Plant company in the Dartford area who have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Plant Fitter. They have workshop roles and mobile roles available, that will be covering the area for any call outs and working on all vehicles/machines out at sites. The successful plant fitter will be suitably qualified and have experience in the maintenance and repair of the same or similar types of plant and equipment within our clients fleet. Candidates must possess a valid driving licence.
Plant Fitter Main Responsibilities
This role includes the following key priorities:
- Servicing and repairing machinery and equipment, either in the workshop or during field visits.
- Fixing faults or installing replacement parts.
- Compliance with manufacturers service and warranty procedures.
- Account for all hours worked using timesheet or scanner, as applicable.
- Keep the Management informed of progress.
- Maintain work area and company vehicle in a safe, tidy, and professional manner, necessary to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Employees must act in accordance with the company Health & Safety Policy, Risk Assessments and Safe Working Practices.

To carry out surveys and identify required responsive repairs and voids works to the Council’s housing stock, communal and environmental areas and assist with the ongoing management of the HRA investment programme.
