As a Staff Nurse in haematology, you will be working in a clinical and service development capacity to ensure the service to patients is planned, delivered, and evaluated in line with evidence-based practice. The Biomedical Science team at Maxxima are currently recruiting a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist in special coagulation or haemoglobinopathies to work in a busy NHS Hospital in West Yorkshire We are looking for a biomedical scientist who can make a real difference in supporting the laboratory's service.
What will you be doing in this Biomedical Scientist role?
As a Biomedical Scientist in Special Coagulation or Haemoglobinopathies you would provide a wide range of laboratory testing for the diagnosis and treatment of acquired and genetically inherited thrombotic and haemorrhagic disorders and quantitative analysis of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) You will be experienced in maintaining and troubleshooting the analysers alongside your usual duty in loading and operation.
The laboratory provides a Haemoglobinopathy screening service that includes Antenatal, Regional Newborn screening, Pre-operative screening, the provision of a monitoring service for patients with haemoglobin disorders for the clinical teams and family self referrals through GPs.
