You will work on construction projects from feasibility through project delivery.
You will advise customers on strategic, commercial and organizational issues throughout the entire project process.
You will be responsible for cost planning and project control across all project phases.
You will also do benchmarking and Value Engineering and Value Analysis plus cost reporting etc.

You should be able to deal with people at all levels and support a Senior QS or Associate in running projects.
THE COMPANY
My client is a successful firm of construction consultants providing clients with Project Management and Quantity Surveying services with offices in the UK and in the EU.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be Degree qualified in a construction related subject e.g. Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering or similar.
You may be working towards sitting the APC to become RICS qualified or you may be already qualified.
You will need to have gained three or more years or more post graduate experience or more working as a Quantity Surveyor on large building construction projects.
You will need some experience of feasibiity studies, cost estimating, cost planning, cash flow forecasting, contractual advice, value engineering, contractor selection, tender documentation, along with all post contract work including valuations, variations etc.
Ideally you will have been working for a firm of building construction consultants or worked client-side.
You will need good German or C1 level and be keen to improve your German language skills. Good English is also required.
A full driving license is essential as some sites are fairly remote.
Good communication skills are essential and to have the ability to deal with people at all levels.
You should be able to work with minimum supervision and supervise less experienced QSs as required.

Key Responsibilities:
Engage and Manage supply chain
Produce and send enquiries to subcontractors inviting them to tender.
Receive and analyse quotations, then determine (with Operational team) which to proceed with based on financial and non-financial factors.
Notify in writing both successful and unsuccessful tenderers.
Produce and process formal subcontract documents and certify interim and final payments and accounts.
Understand and conform with contractual and technical requirements
Produce Bill of Quantities from information from drawings, specifications and other contract documents.
Produce an Activity Schedule for payment purposes, from quotation or contract documents.
Understand and proof-read standard Construction industry contracts.
Have a reasonable understanding of structural and architectural steelwork. construction process and the wider construction industry.
Play a key role in bringing payment into the company

Collect and present information necessary for raising Invoices. Co-ordinate with the Accounting team for the creation and payment of the invoices.
Update Cashflow Forecasting information based on project programme/plan.
Communicate commercial information
Extract and organise information from software programs to contribute to Monthly Reports.
Present and review cost information with operational team.
Attend and contribute to financial and progress meetings with the clients and subcontractors as required.
Assist others in the company with organising and presenting information relevant to commercial interests.
Key measures and targets:
Maintaining deadlines in line with monthly accounting calendar.
Accurate and up-to-date monthly forecasting.
Ability to challenge resources and costs.
Key relationships: Quantity Surveyor Chief Operating Officer Contracts Manager and Project Manager(s) Estimating, Procurement and Accounting teams.
