My Client is a fully-fledged Contract Electronic Manufacturer supplying products to a diverse customer base. They now require a Production Engineer to work within their Production site in Hertfordshire.
The successful candidate for the Production Engineer job, Hertfordshire will have a strong background in SMT, PCB and Final Product Assembly processes and techniques, have a good knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques including, OPF, Lean and 5S, have a relevant degree or equivalent qualifications and also a strong working knowledge of electronic assembly and processes, including IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001.
The main role for the Production Engineer, Hertfordshire will be to support Manufacturing functions to develop and introduce new manufacturing solutions and processes, and to carry out a critical review of assembly processes for existing products, making recommendations for and implementation of process improvements.
Day to day the Production Engineer, Hertfordshire, will receive and process all incoming technical specifications and data issued from Customers in accordance with company procedures, carry out technical assessment of new enquiries, carry out technical review as part of the commercial requirement for a contract review on all new orders, develop and implement manufacturing packs and documentation covering all aspects for the product assembly, receive and process all engineering change note requests, and support the management team with analysis of manufacturing defects / process failures to determine root cause.

A global leading technology organisation based in Hampshire are seeking an academically qualified Senior Optical Engineer to join their expanding R&D facility.
As a Senior Optical Engineer you will be responsible for researching, designing, developing and manufacturing prototype laser systems and equipment, owning several laser projects concurrently. You will ensure constant communication with related areas of the business, supporting sales, customers, purchasing and manufacturing, to be able to oversee successful transfer of processes to production.
Some of the responsibilities of the Senior Optical Engineer based in Hampshire:
- Take ownership of new laser product development activities from concept to transfer to production; work with other Engineers (optical, mechanical, electronics and the customers) to define and agree on requirements, develop designs and innovative technical solutions.

As a member of the engineering team, The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be joining a small but highly skilled R&D team where they will be working to progress the company's hardware products. This will entail both developing new products and reforming and improving the existing product range. Your main responsibilities will be
Key Responsibilities
- Creating new products and solutions to meet commercial requirements.
- Reimagining existing products, increasing functionality and potential applications.
- Redesigning products to deliver better performance and to improve manufacturability.
- Cost-engineering of existing products.
- Implementing and maintaining a repository of designs.
- Ensuring correct change-control procedures are adhered to.
- Supporting the production engineers in the development of rigs and processes, where required.

The Right Person
The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be developing complex measurement instruments deployed in difficult environments so a background in sensors or ingress protection would be beneficial as well as experience in the following areas:
- Masters degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering, or similar.
- 4+ years industry experience.
- Mechanical design.
- Strong 3D CAD skills (e.g. SolidEdge)
- Cost-engineering.
- Design-for-manufacture.
- Design for ingress protection (e.g. IP68).
- Development from prototype through to manufacture.
- Data analysis and strong numerical skills.
- Technical writing, processes and documentation.
- Problem solving.
- Change control and repository management.
The following skills would be beneficial to a good candidate, but are not essential to the role:
- Assembly and fabrication (e.g. for prototypes).
- Experience in working with electronics.
- Fault-finding electronics and sensors.
- Low power applications.
- BoM creation and obsolescence.
- Sensor calibration and test automation.
