Title: Credit Analyst

Position Summary:
Review and approve customer orders through credit procedures and collect on assigned past due accounts
Essential Functions:
Review orders that are on credit hold status and make necessary arrangements to approve those orders. Customer - request and review bank/trade references, Dun & Bradstreet credit reports, and if necessary financial statements. Set credit limit or submit to proper authorized person for credit limit approval. Ongoing Customer - depending on customer credit history, size of order, and location of job, sometimes may have to request and obtain bonding information, joint check agreements, guarantee of payment, personal guarantees, and file Preliminary Notice of Intent in the states required. Investigate customers with held orders that have past dues or are over their limit. Determine action to be taken by using judgment when general guidelines indicate what is to be done. May refer to Credit Manager. Contact customers whose accounts are past due, according to the "aging report". Follow up with past due customers regularly. Prepare files for AR accounts that need to be placed with an outsourced collection agency, or for filing bond claims, mechanics liens, or other legal claims. Reconcile customers' accounts timely to keep customers accounts up to date. This position works and communicates closely with customer service, sales, and accounting departments, in addition to Carboline customers, so strong verbal and written communication required. Perform additional duties as assigned Commit to the Company's safety and quality programs.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent 1 year Collections experience
Desired Qualification:
Associate or Bachelors in Accounting, finance, business Strong Microsoft suite 3-5 years of credit experience. Critical thinking, strong communicator, problem solver
Physical Requirements:
This position requires minimal physical activity but does require computer usage for an extended period of time - up to 8 hours in a day. No unusual environmental, lifting or exertion requirements are associated with this position

What You Will Need to Succeed in This Role
Ensure the timely issuance of all necessary renewal documentation to clients and brokers
Effectively manage and follow up on direct Personal Lines and broker renewals to ensure prompt receipt of payments or instructions
Meet individual performance objectives set on an annual basis, while also fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team
Minimum 3 years in insurance customer service, with at least 1 year in a leadership role
Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively
Strong understanding of insurance products, policies, and procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently
Meticulous attention to detail in data entry and documentation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

The team focus on obtaining compensation for clients suffering from a result of personal injury, clinical negligence, and credit hire of house disrepair. You will be working on a full caseload and liaising with counsel, courts, experts, and witnesses. Other duties include:
Checking and recording/dairying important dates (e.g. limitation, striking out, setting down, application for judgment, directions, assessment of damages, trial)
Checking and reviewing initial information.
Identifying and processing files to be rejected.
Preparing files for issue of court proceedings.
Preparing files for CMC’s, assessment of damages hearings and trial.
Preparing/presenting files for costing.
Notifying accounts of disbursements incurred/to be recovered.
Update on analysis of credit hire issues relating to need, period, rate, enforceability etc. including consideration and analysis of basic hire rates reports.
To be considered, you will have a minimum of 1 year litigation and credit hire experience. A strong understanding of core liability including causation, consent and quantum issues, and experience of drafting simple schedules of loss.
